My name is Ofelia, and I’m an award-winning Senior Designer and Art Director with 19+ years of experience creating packaging, retail campaigns, brand systems, and visual storytelling for leading CPG, food, wine, and spirits brands. My work spans packaging design, POS, retail displays, art direction, concept development, strategy, digital design, and illustration. Always grounded in storytelling, craft, and strategic intent.

I grew up in the heart of Napa Valley, California, where my appreciation for wine, food, culture, and beautiful packaging was shaped early on. My love for art started long before my career drawing cartoon characters, making paper dolls, and finding joy in creating things by hand. That curiosity, playfulness, and hands-on craft still inform my creative approach today.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from The Art Institute of California–San Francisco and have since built a career designing for nationally recognized brands across multiple CPG categories. My experience includes early work for Nestlé confectionery brands such as Crunch, Butterfinger, Baby Ruth, and Willy Wonka Candy; personal care brands including Avalon Organics, Alba Botanica, Jason Naturals, and Zia Skin Care; food brands such as Mariani, Tulocay & Co., and Tyler Florence; and an extensive portfolio within wine and spirits.

Over the years, I’ve partnered with brands including Bonterra Organic Estates, E. & J. Gallo Winery, Barefoot, Apothic, La Marca, William Hill, Carnivor, Trinchero Family Estates, Sutter Home, Ménage à Trois, Joel Gott, Doña Paula, Charles & Charles, and Cruz Tequila, among many others. I’m known for building cohesive, scalable visual systems that translate seamlessly from shelf to campaign—balancing creative vision, consumer connection, and business needs.

As a bilingual Mexican-American designer, I also bring a bicultural perspective to my work, with an understanding of how design, language, and cultural nuance can shape stronger connections with diverse consumers.

Outside of design, I find inspiration in everyday rituals and creative outlets: gardening, cooking, running, weight training, salsa dancing, hiking, visiting museums, and spending time with my family. These experiences continually influence my sense of color, composition, culture, and storytelling.
